Yiedie Project
Between 2016 and 2017, Hopeworks Ghana equipped unemployed youth (ages 17–24) in Ghana with skills in Interior Decoration under the Youth Inclusive Entrepreneurial Development Initiative for Employment Project (YIEDIE). The project was implemented in deprived communities in the Greater Accra Region: Teshie, Accra Newtown, Nungua and Amasaman/Nsakina.
YIEDIE is designed to create economic opportunities in Ghana's construction sector for disadvantaged youth, equipping them with technical, life and entrepreneurship skills leading to employment, increased income and savings, and new job opportunities in the sector. The project applies an integrated youth-led model to improve the capacity of youth and service providers across the value chain. It was funded by the MasterCard Foundation (USA) and led by Global Communities, an international non-profit organization.
